TWEHA GlassMate

High-performance elastic adhesive for architectural glass façades

TWEHA GlassMate is a homogeneous, highly elastic, one-component high-end hybrid-polymer adhesive, specially developed for the durable structural bonding of tempered glass and other approved glass façade materials.

The system makes it possible to create clean and visually uninterrupted glass façades without visible screws, rivets, clamps or conventional framing interfering with the architectural appearance. TWEHA specifically positions GlassMate for tempered glass and other glass types used as wall cladding materials.

TWEHA’s tested and approved database also includes glass-related substrates such as enameled glass, underlining the importance of selecting the adhesive system according to the exact glass construction and surface finish.

The complete TWEHA Bonding System combines TWEHA GlassMate, TWEHA Cleaner+ and TWEHA Tape, supplemented where required with products such as TWEHA SyntheticPrimer or TWEHA Primer #1 or TWEHA Blacken. Surface finishes such as powder coatings must always be checked against the applicable TWEHA approval or tested before use. Always consult the Technical Data Sheets and TWEHA’s current approval database. Compatibility must always be verified for the specific glass type, coating and supporting structure.

It performs equally well in ventilated glass façade constructions and for bonding glass panels to aluminum supporting structures — making it the ideal choice for applications requiring a clean façade without visible mechanical fixings.

GlassMate is intended for approved façade glass, particularly opaque enamelled toughened glass panels.

Yes. GlassMate is specifically developed as an elastic adhesive for bonded glass façade applications.

Not necessarily. Approved glass surfaces can generally be bonded after the prescribed cleaning procedure unless additional treatment is specifically required.

The bonding surface must be completely dry, clean, dust-free and grease-free and prepared according to the TWEHA application instructions.

The Tape provides initial fixation and maintains the required nominal adhesive thickness of approximately 3 mm.
